a childhood friend in town today
made for a welcome chance to reacquaint
lives that once were inseparable
and see what time had changed or not
in appearance and personality
during the few short hours that we had
stories traded, pictures too
as well as promises to stay in touch
then each returned to where we were
carrying with us a reconnection to our past
